Whether it has been financing Iran’s nuclear program, violating sanctions, supporting crackdowns on the Iranian people or aborting human rights and democracy, China has consistently supported the Islamic Republic’s destructive foreign and domestic policies. China went so far as to sell the Islamic Republic the riot control gear used to crush pro-democracy protests. Omid for Iran’s China campaign is premised on the notion that as a superpower, China’s support for the Islamic Republic fans the flames of terrorism, tyranny, fundamentalism and proliferation. Such an Iran policy puts the Iranian people, as well as their friends in the region at grave risk. Omid for Iran has called on the Chinese government to stop using Iran as a platform for waging a Cold War against the United States at the expense of the Iranian people. Omid will actively work with the Iranian-American, Chinese-American and other communities, including human rights organization, the media, business, churches and governments to realign China’s Iran policy with the interests of the Iranian people.
