1. Peace and Security Program: Preventing War

Peace is the foundation for a stable, democratic and prosperous Iran. Omid supports initiatives and organizations that seek to promote peace and friendship between peoples. Our Peace and Security Program seeks to promote initiatives that minimize the risk of war, military strikes, and other belligerent acts and irresponsible policies that endanger the Iranian people. In the nuclear age, the future of Iran and the rest of the Middle East depends on cultivating a culture of peace and friendship that emphasizes our common humanity and destiny.

2. Freedom and Democracy Program: Promoting Opportunity

Democracy is the basis for legitimate and accountable government that recognizes and respects the rights, freedoms and will of the Iranian people. Omid supports initiatives and organizations that seek to promote democracy, equality, justice and human rights in Iran. Our Democracy Program seeks to strengthen democratic institutions and movements by supporting civil society leaders, organizations, and networks inside and outside Iran.  We support the establishment of democracy in Iran based on respect for the rule of law, popular sovereignty, and civil and human rights.

3. Prosperity and Progress Program: Empowering People

Prosperity is the key to a healthy, dynamic and vibrant society. Omid supports initiatives and organizations that seek to promote economic opportunity and growth. Our Prosperity and Progress Program is designed to encourage an open, creative and vibrant market economy and legal environment that safeguards the value of the talent, labor, capital and resources of the Iranian people.  We seek to promote an ethic of transparency and accountability that checks corruption, nepotism, bribery and other destructive economic activities.

4. Friendship and Humanity Program: Building Community

Friendship and humanity are integral aspects of the Iranian people’s culture and identity. Omid supports initiatives and organizations that builds bonds of friendship and trust across cultures and religions.
Our Friendship and Humanity Program seeks to promote Iranian values such as compassion, hospitality, tolerance and diversity towards others, especially marginal and endangered groups. We support activities and exchanges that challenge destructive and dehumanizing prejudices and stereotypes that demonize the Iranian people and others.
