About Us
Our Vision
Omid for Iran is an initiative committed to improving the life of ordinary Iranians by serving as a collaborative platform for promoting individual freedom, empowering civil society and advancing good governance. As set forth in The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to which Iran is a signatory, we reaffirm our faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person and in the equal rights of men and women regardless of their ethnic, religious, economic or political background and beliefs. We are committed to defending Iran’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, to restoring Iran’s standing and prestige in the international community, and to promoting friendly relations between Iran and all nations.
Identity & Philosophy
Iranians derive their strength and standing from the bonds that unite them, not the breaches that divide them, wherever they are in the world. Their values and vision are a reflection of their enduring power and boundless potential of all the world great civilizations and peoples. Their lives should not be defined by a clash of cultures but by the recognition and celebration of their shared humanity.
Our Mission
Omid for Iran’s mission is to protect and promote the interests of the people of Iran by striving to create the conditions for a better future — a future fueled with hope, opportunity and possibility.
Global Approach:
For Iran to move forward, the Iranian people must have the opportunity to flourish as global citizens who can contribute to and benefit from an emerging and interdependent global community.
To realize this vision, Omid for Iran will focus on action and collaboration: proposing solutions, securing resources, creating partnerships, building capacity, funding projects and facilitating actions that make a tangible, practical and positive difference in the life of the Iranian people.
We welcome all friends of Iran, be they individuals or organizations, to secure a better and brighter future for Iran and the world community.
Our Objective
The Iranian people’s beliefs, customs and traditions are founded upon principles of justice, law, tolerance and compassion. These principles are grounded in the historical experience of the Iranian people, and premised on assumptions of innocence, equality, reciprocity and humanity, the principles enshrined in the parchments and documents that form the Charter of the United Nations reflect the gravity of texts and the face of traditions that are as old as time.
While neither complete nor perfect, these principles, and the constitutions and institutions they support, distill the collective experience and intelligence of generations. They are enshrined in documents and declarations bearing the seal and signature of their statesmen and scholars. They are the pillars that ensure the peace, progress, prosperity and security of people from all nations and religions by protecting the fundamentals of life. And while neither principles nor the individuals and institutions charged with their definition, interpretation, implementation and enforcement can be free from error and doubt, and while it falls upon each and every generation to question and perfect these principles to further their purpose, which is the protection of the life, liberty, health and happiness of future generations, the principles form the foundation for good governance, prosperity and peace within the framework of justice and compassion.
